University

I'm currently enrolled as an undergraduate at the Technical University of Vienna where I'm taking the Computer Science course.
Since this year I'm also enrolled in the economics course of the University of Vienna.

At my computer science degree I'm currently interested in distributed systems, systems engineering, computer vision and the process of doing proper research itself. I recently wrote a literary paper on the current state of recommender system simulation (might publish it here at some point as well).

As for my economics studies I mainly started because I followed a lot more geo-political news. Might be because of a certain orange man across the pond - might be because of the current state of the world, but through my studies I wanted to further understand how nations work internally and externally. Due to me being close to finish my comp-sci bachelors I'm currently less focussed on this part of my studies.

As last semester was quite stressful I decided to take less courses and focus more on them. This semester I'm attending Introduction to Quantum Computing, Introduction to Machine Learning and Introduction to Security whilst starting my Bachelors Thesis at the Distributed Systems Group. (more on that in the future)

Health

Unfortunately due to a lot of stress at work and at university I had to set sports aside toward the end of last year. But I convinced myself to start jogging more again!

In early 2023 I had set myself a challenge of not drinking any alcohol, eating healthy and running a 5k in sub 30mins - during this time I was sedentary a lot (mainly because of work) and thus wanted to change that. In the spirit of this mindset I want to get back into running this year.

I've also joined a hobby soccer league ever since I moved to Vienna. It's quite nice to get back into an old hobby. Although I can really feel my body not being at a state that I was back when I played soccer haha! I tend to come home with a lot more bruises and pain than I'd like - but I still enjoy the feeling of being in a team and pushing myself.

Ever since I moved to Vienna I've also consistently been playing volleyball (although I enjoy indoor a lot more due it being more structured).
My friends recently just started their own volleyball club which I've been part of! (Leave a follow @sportverein_vc_uhu) This is probably my main source of sports right now and I feel like my technique has been improving very much in the last 2 months!

Things that interest me right now

This year is my "Year of Bread"! 🍞🥖
Back when I lived in Spain I had a "new-things-monday" concept where I - as a total newcomer to cooking - challenged myself to cook something more inspiring than simple noodles or rice. Back then I streamed this to my friends as well which was entertaining as it was a way to stay in contact with them despite the distance. It was something that kept me grounded while showing me the fun you can have cooking (and tasting) something new.

In the same spirit of "new-things-monday" I started the "Year of Bread". So far I made regular white bread, banana bread and sesame bread - all of which were fully consumed within a day!

Also, 2026 is a very travel-intensive year. Last year I managed to visit Istanbul, Tunisia, Amsterdam, Paris, Kosovo and Bologna. This year I'm going even further abroad! In February I visited Japan + New Zealand with my girlfriend and in May I'll visit a friend of mine in Helsinki and attend a beach volleyball tournament in Italy!

This is a now page where I will share what I am currently working on, learning, or exploring.
